The Fernandina Beach Pickleball Pirates is an informal group, not a club.
We welcome new players and provide loaner paddles and introductory sessions if needed. All you need to provide is appropriate clothing and shoes and a good attitude. Just introduce yourself to one of our players, and we’ll get you started.
We are using City property (pickleball courts at Central Park on Atlantic Avenue) and are subject to the rules and regulations of the City of Fernandina Beach. There are no dues, meetings, or membership requirements. There is a “Pickle Jar” for donations for purchase of balls, loaner paddles, supplies, and improvements to the courts.
Our schedule of Group Play times are posted on this website and in the bulletin board at the courts. To play at other times, you will need a key to the gate which can be obtained at Parks and Rec Office located at the Atlantic Recreation Center, 2500 Atlantic Avenue, Fernandina Beach, FL 32034
Dave Cultice brought pickleball to Amelia Island and was our first USAPA Ambassador. An ambassador is a volunteer who has pledged to promote the sport of pickleball and the USAPA in the local area they have applied to represent. Patty Sorensen was a co-Ambassador for 2019. Currently, Shelly Duncan is the Ambassador for Amelia Island.
